Why Bezalel?
The biblical story that inspired this creative journey
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills — to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.’”

Who Was Bezalel?
Bezalel was the first person in the Bible described as being filled with the Spirit of God. And what was he filled to do? Not to preach, not to lead armies, not to rule kingdoms — but to create beautiful things.
God chose Bezalel and gave him extraordinary artistic ability, wisdom, and skill in every kind of craft. He was tasked with building the Tabernacle — the dwelling place of God — making it beautiful through gold, silver, bronze, precious stones, fine fabrics, and intricate woodwork.
This story teaches us something profound: creativity is a gift from God. Artistic talent is not random — it's purposeful, sacred, and meant to bring beauty into the world.
What This Means for Lilah's Art

The name “Bezalel” literally means “in the shadow of God.” Just as Bezalel created under God's guidance and inspiration, every piece of art created here is an expression of the creative gifts God has given.
Whether it's a pencil sketch of a beloved pet, a painting that captures a moment of beauty, or a sculpture shaped by hand — each creation is an act of worship. It's using the gifts God gave to create beauty that inspires, encourages, and points people back to the ultimate Creator.
